Bangalore: IDFC Private Equity, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Infrastructure Development Finance Company, is looking to infuse Rs 800 million in Chennai-based renewable energy company Green Infra Ltd to fund the firm's various renewable energy projects.
The investment is expected to be completed in next two months, Partner at IDFC Private Equity Raja Parathasarathy said
So far, the private equity investor has pumped in Rs 3,600 million in the company. With the investment of Rs 800 million, IDFC Private Equity total investment in the Green Infra will reach Rs 4,400 million.
The firm's investments in the past have helped Green Infra develop a portfolio of 164 megawatt of operating assets under management in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat, whereas the company has a strong pipeline of another 100 megawatt, he said.
Furthermore, he added, the company is also aiming to raise around $150 to 200 million as equity over the next few months.
IDFC Private Equity funds-backed Green Infra currently operates across the five verticals -- wind, biomass, small hydro, solar and energy efficiency.
