New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed Sushobhan Sarkar as managing director of the country's largest life insurer Life Insurance Corp of India (LIC) with immediate effect.
Prior to this, he was heading international operations of the state-run insurance company as executive director.
Sarkar, who joined LIC in 1978 as a probationary officer, also managed portfolios relating to marketing and investment in the company.
He was also associated with LIC Mutual Fund Asset Management Company as director and chief executive officer.
